The eniali is a hybrid species that is a combination of Benutians and human. The benutians have only one sex and reproduce through a pollination type reproduction with another species. They're reproduction cycle is put into motion by the intermingling of the DNA of a creature called the seg. The seg is a worm like creature that attaches itself to a Benutians host to extract DNA for it's own reproduction needs and in the process pollinates the Benutians host with it's own DNA and starts it's reproduction cycle. When a seg attaches to a pregnant human the DNA that is implanted by the seg mutates the fetus and creates a new species called the eniali. When this first began to occur the humans began to exterminate the seg, resulting in the twenty year war with the benutians. Most eniali were put to death when they were born, but some were hidden and survived. I.T.U., is the acronym for the Benutians Military's Intelligence Transfer Units. I.T.U.'s were 6'-8" cybernetic bodies that a Benutians soldier could transfer it's consciousness into and fight in relative safety. There were instances of mind melt, when a soldiers ITU would be destroyed and the experience of death in the suit would cause the soldier's mind to fracture, but this was very rare and happened in only .5% of the population. The I.T.U.s gave the Benutians a great advantage over the humans in the 20 year war, until the creation of the Juggernaut program.
